Hi everyone.

In this blog I'd like to tell you about our chosen charity.

We are proud to be supporting Ward 34, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

The haematology ward consists of 17 beds caring for patients with haematological malignancies such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. They also perform autologust bone marrow transplants, provide care for haememotological disorders such as sickle cell and thalassaemia traits and bleeding disorders such as haemophilia.

It is a busy ward with a great team atmosphere as many of the patients have life long illnesses which encourage a good patient - nurse rapport built up over many years.

The haematology ward is a Level 3 centre for the local network and all regional autologust bone marrow transplants are performed there. There is also a haematology day unit and out patients department. The day unit provides complex treatment regimes to all patients which help to maintain their long term conditions.

We are truly blessed to have such a facility in the West Midlands, which is why we are so proud to be supporting Ward 34.

It is our hope that the money raised will contribute to purchasing the latest equipment to support staff in continuing to provide the highest standard of care, so that patients can go on to live long and healthy lives with their families and loved ones.

Please support this very worthy charity.

Never stop exploring.
